Biography

Pete T. Patterson is managing partner of Patterson, PC, a business litigation law firm here in Houston Texas. He is also the founder and former President of Capital Recovery Group, a real estate consulting business that served clients nationwide. Pete is Board Certified in Civil Trial PI Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Less than 5% of practicing attorneys achieve board certification and fewer hold certification in multiple areas. As of 2016, only 351 attorneys in the state of Texas were board certified in both fields.

Pete received his undergraduate degree along with a double minor from the University of Texas at Austin, and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center where he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers. Pete was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1990 and qualified in the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, and multiple District Courts throughout the United States.

During his career, Mr. Patterson has had numerous substantial trial verdicts in favor of his clients, in matters as diverse as a $20MM Oil & Gas verdict to the reversal of a $57MM verdict in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Patterson has demonstrated his abilities in many ways, earning numerous awards and legal distinctions for his advocacy as a business litigation attorney in Houston.

Mr. Patterson was the recipient of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2001, and President's Circle Award 2003, as well as, the 1996 PIP Award from then Governor George W. Bush.

Mr. Patterson has a long history of engagement with law, business, and civic associations. He is the Past President of the Entrepreneur's Organization, Neartown Association, and the Park Civic Association. Pete has served on several boards appointed by the Houston Mayor and City Council.

Pete is married to Martine Patterson, and they have one son for whom there is not enough hours in the day to swim at the Briar Club.
